About Mother Superior
HER STORY
Mother McCoy’ spiritual gift to the Body of Christ is that of an encourager of an inspirational writer. Her special God given ability is to inspire others to reach their full potential by challenging, comforting and guiding them in such a way that they are motivated to grow. These words on the pages can carry the anointing of these celebration gifts. Through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and the integrity of this author to recall the encounter with integrity, the Lord can release a miraculous work of His hand to the reader as he or she reads her work. She is open to how the Lord can use her writing to release these gifts to others. Mother McCoy states she is praying for wisdom and insight that the Lord might communicate power and authority through her writing.

Susie Nelson (McCoy), AKA Mother Superior, was born May 3, 1938, in Plainfield, New Jersey. She was filled with the Holy Ghost at the age of nine in Scotch Plains, NJ, under the Spiritual tutelage of the Late Bishop Robert S. and Mother Annie Grayer. Mother McCoy has faithfully served the Church of our Lord Jesus Christ for seventy-four years.
In 1956 after graduating from Plainfield High School, Susie attended her first International Women’s Council which was held in Bluefield, West Virginia. She was in such awe as she witnessed the mighty move of the Lord on the women of God, that she asked the Lord to one day allow her to be the President of that great auxiliary. She held on to that dream for 44 years. In October of 2000 in Denver, Colorado, her dream became a reality! She meritoriously served as President of the International Women’s Council (IWC) from 2000 until 2003. Her first gift to her officers and staff was a scholarship to attend the W. L. Bonner College. Twenty-six people received Mother McCoy’s Presidential gift of wisdom. On alternating Saturdays, the classes were offered in New York, Detroit and Columbia, South Carolina.
Additional crowning achievements of her Presidential tenure include implementing enrollment; an elevation from registration, enrollment included a beautiful leather portfolio, a free inspirational book, inscribed pen; all workshop material and the inauguration of the breakfast with the President ticket included in the enrollment price. Mother McCoy also implemented a system which eliminated hotel tax for delegates; the return to the founding theme of Unity; and purple shoes as part of the official IWC uniform. Additionally, she reorganized the administrative structure of the IWC to include Directors as part of the executive cabinet. As a highly competent and confident leader, she skillfully delegated authority and empowered women to exercise their gifts and talents free of micromanagement. She was known for wearing a Presidential cape of Motherhood and she remains the epitome of a true Apostolic Mother.
Prior to her international presidential post, Mother McCoy served as Vice President of Education for the IWC from 1997 to 2000. During this time, she established the Mother Dorothy Anderson Scholarship, which covers the cost of travel, tuition, and fees for international students; the Mother Susie N. McCoy Scholarship, which covers the cost of tuition and fees for domestic students; and the Mother Sandra M. Jones Scholarship, which gives aid to Christian Schools within the Church of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Mother McCoy worked at Bethune-Cookman College (now university) from 1964 until 1972 as the Division Secretary for the School of Social Science. During her tenure, she helped the institution through its self-study for accreditation.
As a child, Mother McCoy witnessed the processional of the members of the Board of Education marching into the Holy Convocation on Education Day in their academic regalia. In preparation for one day joining that procession, Mother McCoy has held on to her childhood dream. Proving that it’s never too late for God to come through, she has miraculously accomplished the following academic achievements as a non-traditional student:
